The Great Divide Brewing Company is in Denver, Colorado. "Great Minds Drink Alike." This 7.1% ABV India Pale Ale is aged on French and American oak.
The beer pours a deep amber in color, somewhat hazy. There is a short head of off-white foam. The aroma is big, oranges, tangerine, tangy, citrus, caramelly malt, vanilla, oak, and cedar. The taste follows the aromas, hitting all of the same notes. The finish is fairly bitter and dry, but also very smooth. This is excellent, there are few oak aged IPA's I have tried that are any better.
