Boulevard Long Strange Tripel

This 9.2% ABV Belgian-style ale is part of the Smokestack Series from Boulevard Brewing of Kansas City, Missouri. It takes its name from their longest-tenured employee, Trip Hogue. This is a year round Smokestack release.

The beer pours an orange tinted golden in color. There is a tall head of white, fizzy foam, not particularly long lasting. The aroma is banana bread, herbal, estery, yeasty, floral, sweet. The taste follows the aromas directly, like a semi-sweet banana pastry using some herbs or spices. The beer has the intense, fine, fizzy carbonation of bottle conditioning. The alcohol is well hidden in all the flavor and spiciness, but comes out a bit as it warms. This is very well done.
