Baraboo Skillet Creek Pilsner

Baraboo Beers are a proprietary brand of the Hy-Vee chain of Midwestern supermarkets.  The beers are contract brewed by Stevens Point Brewery in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. This is their most recent release, a pilsner.

The beer pours a clear golden yellow. There is a tall head of thick, pure white foam. The aroma is grassy, golden grains, with a touch of honey and flowers. The taste follows the aromas, grass, straw, grain, with that sweet touch, coming to a crisp and fairly bitter finish. It is nicely carbonated and drinks refreshing. Especially taking into account that it is a grocery store brand, this is a pretty darn good American pils and a good value.
