Revolution Rosa Hibiscus Ale

This is a 5.8% ABV light ale steeped with hibiscus flowers. It is from Revolution Brewing, which is located in Logan Square in Chicago, Illinois. They have a brew pub with good food and beer. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in Chicago.

The beer pours salmon pink to very light ruby in color. There is a short, white head. The aroma is fruity and floral, nice hibiscus notes with an almost vinous tanginess (think a fruity rose wine). The taste follows the aromas directly, fruity, floral, vinous. Take out the carbonation, and this is a decent rose wine, but for the mouthfeel. The mouthfeel has a subtle carbonation and is much smoother than a wine would be. Very interesting, I really liked it.
