Peace Tree Saison Blanche

The Peace Tree Brewing Company is in Knoxville, Iowa. They do a lot of really good and interesting beers and they always have a good time at beer fests. This 7.0% ABV saison uses French yeast.

The beer pours a dark honey golden in color, tints of orange and dried apricot.  There is about an inch of fizzy, bubbling, foamy head, white to off-white, not very long lasting. The aroma is tart and tangy, yet sweet, very fruity, loads of big, full, ripe melons and tropical fruits, languorous floral in tropical humidity, some zestiness of yeast. The taste follows the aromas, floral, fruit and yeast merge into one full, round, tangy sweet flavor, over ripe fruits and peach. The beer drinks smooth, with a subtle, tingling carbonation, followed by a wave of peppery heat. The finish is lightly dry, with the original flavors lingering long in the aftertaste. This is very well done.
