Sierra Nevada Vienna Lager

This 5.3% ABV beer is Sierra Nevada Brewing's eponymous take on the Vienna-style lager.  It came in their fall sampler pack. They now have breweries in both Chico, California and now Mills River, North Carolina.

The beer pours a bright and clear amber and copper in color. There is about an inch of thick, foamy, nearly creamy off-white to light tan head that leaves some rings of lacing down the glass. The aroma is toasted malts, grain, a bit nutty, light caramel, with a grassy finish. The taste follows the aromas, malty, nutty, a bit of caramel, a touch of dark fruits, with a dry and grassy finish, moderately bitter. It is refreshingly carbonated, smooth, tasty and easy drinking. I liked this even more the second time I tried it.

Liking it very much in 2016 as well:  The beer pours a light amber and copper in color. There is a short head of white to off-white foam. The aroma is lightly malty, sweet and grassy, light caramel, touch of nut and hay. The taste follows the aromas, sweet then grassy. The finish is dry and moderately bitter. The beer drinks very refreshing with crisp carbonation. This is one really tasty lager. This is a great job by Sierra Nevada.
