Astra Grapefruit Radler

This is a 2.0% ABV grapefruit radler from the Bavaria-St.Pauli brewery of Hamburg, Germany. Radler is a mix of lager beer and fruit juice. It comes for the German word for cyclist, the people who originated this light, thirst quenching beverage. It most commonly uses either grapefruit or lemon.

The beer pours a hazy golden and grapefruit-flesh in color. There is a tall head of white foam that fizzes down to nothing. The aroma is fresh and pithy grapefruit juice, both tangy and sweet. The taste is the same grapefruit juice over toasted malt. The finish is dry with a mild grapefruit bitterness. The beer drinks easy, carbonated, and refreshing.  This is a very good radler.
